Guided Missile is looking for musicians for a Live Karaoke Band for a regular club, ALCOPOP IDOL, starting at the end of this year. Kicking off at Guided Missile's Christmas Party at The Buffalo bar, N1 on Saturday 10th December, then secure a regular monthly night at the BB or elsewhere from Jan 2006, with the eventual aim being to make it into a full time business, taking bookings throughout the month for indie nights, aftershows, gigs, pubs, even weddings and corporate events down the line.
I have filled the positions of Manager and Bass Player. I am looking for 3 people :
1. GUITAR
2. GUITAR / KEYBOARDIST
3. DRUMS
(ALL WITH BACKING VOCALS)
Because of the nature of the project I need people who can pick up a tune easily and who will have fun doing this on stage, adding the odd bits of backing vocal, counting or nodding the singers in on cue, and basically be able to react to and deal whatever comes up. It's not serious or high pressure, it's fun, but it will be hard work and a serious approach to that side is essential.
Main thing is that I need people who will give up one evening a week to learn 30 - 50 songs between August and December, people who will pre-learn songs from CDs before the meet ups, and then people with enough time from Jan2006 to play gigs. The ultimate aim is to try and quit the 9 - 5.
Early song ideas (subject to change):
Franz Ferdinand “Take Me Out” – The Darkness “I Believe In A Thing Called Love” – Rainbow “Since You Been Gone” – Deep Purple “Smoke On The Water” – The Jam “Going Underground” – Madness “Embarassment” – Beatles “Back In The USSR” – Oasis “Wonderwall” – Blur “Park Life” – Queen “Another One Bites The Dust” – Blondie “Atomic” – Killers “Somebody Told Me” – Rolling Stones “Satisfaction” – Primal Scream “Get Your Rocks Off” – Thin Lizzy “The Boys Are Back In Town” – Art Brut “Formed A Band” – Abba “Waterloo” – Soft Cell “Tainted Love” – Scissor Sisters “Laura” – Pulp “Common People” – No Doubt “Don’t Speak” – Manic Street Preachers “A Design For Life” – Strokes “Last Nite” – Eagles “Hotel California” – Beach Boys “Good Vibrations” – AC/DC “Back In Black” – Guns ‘N’ Roses “Sweet Child O Mine” – Status Quo “Rockin All Over The World” – Meatloaf “Bat Out Of Hell” – Bon Jovi “Livin On A Prayer” – White Stripes “Seven Nation Army” – Adam Ant “Goody Two Shoes” – David Bowie “Space Oddity” – Phil Collins “Against All Odds” – Elaine Paige & Barbara Dickson “I Know Him So Well” – The Who “My Generation” – Kinks “You Really Got Me” – Ultravox “Vienna” – Kim Wilde “Kids In America” – Bruce Springsteen “Dancing In The Dark” – Tom Robinson Band “2468 Motorway” – Outkaste “Hey Ya” – Feeder “Buck Rogers” – Roxy Music “Virginia Plain” – T-Rex “Get It On” – Joy Division “Love Will Tear Us Apart” – New Order “Blue Monday” – Radiohead “Creep” – Kraftwerk “The Model” - Nena “99 Red Balloons” – Lynyrd Skynyrd “Freebird” – Toto “Africa”
